Hi Janette,
there is a William Langtry Bell in Ballykeel Holywood Co Offaly on the Griffiths Valuation. Maybe he's a relative?

Hiya Jeanette,
Edward Langtry, an Irish landowner, married Emilie Charlotte Le Breton who was born on the island of Jersey in 1853. http://www.lillielangtry.com I checked Griffiths Valuation of Ireland 1848-64. Most of the Langtrys were in the north of Ireland by that time. I have found mention of a Maria Langtry, a cousin of Edward Langtry (a wealthy Belfast shipbuilder). http://ralph.cs.cf.ac.uk/HOB/HOBB.pdf I looked at www.familysearch.org I found several Langtrys born in Ireland but didn't notice Co. Offaly.
All the Best, Chris

Hi Jeanette, I am descended from Patrick Thomas Lantry who was born in Banagher in 1796 a son of James & Bridget . Patrick was married twice, the descendants of his first wife Bridget Donohue still live in Ireland around Cork & Dublin, he emigrated to Australia with his second wife and family in 1865. Patrick and family settled in Paterson (Hunter Valley) most of the descendants still live around the Maitland, Morpeth, Hinton, Largs (Hunter Valley)area. While I have no details of siblings Catherines father was quite possibly a brother/cousin of Patrick.

Hi Mick, That is a great connection. Hope Janette sees it soon.
It would be good to get the line of enquiry onto the Australian Board [emigrants to Australia] if she and you are interested in persuing the Aussie line both backwards and forwards [if you get what i mean!] Sue PS the only reason I read it is that Ofally is such an odd name for a place!
