May I please request a Queensland Electoral Roll look-up between the years 1930 - 1950.
I am searching for Harry Eyre (also known as Hal, Henry) and his de-facto B.L.Lucas.
Known addresses are: Walker Street, Tennyson in 1945; Boonah District in 1946; Hardwick Terrace, Bardon, Brisbane 1946.
Harry was buried in Boonah Cemetary in 1946.
I am particularly interested in B. L. Lucas. That's the only information I have about her and would like to obtain her first names.

Hi Spyder,
Harry Eyre is listed on the following website http://www.ozcemeteries.com/qld_cemeteries/boonah.htm
Monumental section as follows;
Eyre Harry Leo 4 Apr 1946
Might be a long shot but it looks like they are happy to send photo of headstone. Perhaps Harry's may reveal more info on B L Lucas?
The cemetery can be found on Cemetery Road, Boonah and is administered by the Boonah Shire Council. We photographed this cemetery in October 2005 and the this transcriptions represents all visible and legible headstones at that time. We are happy to share a photo or two so just send us an email.
bye

Thanks Eilidh. I already have the photograph of Harry's headstone. Unfortunately, it gave no information regarding Lucas. It was from his death certificate that I got the information regarding her initials.
I was hoping that there may be some record on the electoral rolls.

Spyder, Did they have any children together? His death cert should give that information.

Ruskie, Yes, they had a daughter named Halyn, date of birth, 22 January 1937.
I found reference to her in the Queensland School Pupils Index. I was also sent a copy of the school registration in which it showed her being registered for Tennyson School in 1945, giving the address of Walker Street, showing Harry Eyre as the father but no reference of the mother.
The death certificate does record Halyn as his daughter.

Well that's good. Halyn - a nice unusual name ... (and she may still be alive). Her birth certificate may be worth persuing, to confirm Sue's findings.

Sue. Beatrice Lenora Lucas??? That may well be worth chasing for a birth or death certificate. I could possibly come up with a close guesstimate of her year of birth. I can't provide an answer on the Oxley suggestion. I have an old hand written 1945 letter from a neighbour who thought that they may have gone to Victoria following Harry's death.
Ruskie. I'd love to be able to apply for Halyn's birth certificate but I would have to wait for the 100 years restriction.
....unless there is some way around it.

Yes, it looks like you might need Halyn's permission to get her birth certificate. And births on fiche at the archives only go up to 1919 .....

Following Sue's lead regarding the Oxley connection, I searched through the Ancestry Index and found Harry and Violet Eyre in the 1913 Electoral Roll.
This is Harry with his first wife. They later moved to Sydney and started a family. Beatrice Lenora LUCAS is listed as living in Oxley in the 1925 Electoral Roll.
The other records I found are for a Beatrice Leonora Lucas. Slightly different spelling of the middle name but it could be the same person.
I can find no further record on the Electoral Rolls for Harry Eyre. I know that he did move back to QLD but may not have registered to vote.
