Couldn't find anything! I'd get the marriage cert to find out her father's name and any witnesses that might give us a clue... (she married a Thos W Haliday if I remember correctly from the censuses I found her on 1861 onwards)

no Maria Bawler / Haliday marriage I can see (FreeBMD) 
Suspect the PoB is North Curry .... In 1841, searching for Maria born c1835 in that district - no surnames like Bawler - altho there is a 50 year old Maria Bawler in the area ...
Did you get the maiden name from a Birth Cert ?

Yes thats the one I found and couldn't find an Emma or Maria in 1841/51 that would fit, closest was a Maria Bawly of correct age but in Gloucestershire (just children in the household plus governess and couple of other servants)

a possible scenario is that her father died and mother remarried and shes' using stepfathers name in those census .... you might be able to sort it by examining deaths and marriages in the period up to 1841.
Or locate the Parish registers - not on the IGI it seems
