Hi,
I am looking for details relating to Thomas Albert Smith in Hartlepool. I have an address from 1924 as 51 Hermit Street, but could have moved after 1901. On a marriage certificate I have he is listed as a shipyard helper. Any details that can be found would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks Barbara....this is the exact match....I have a marriage certificate for Mary L Smith in 1924 aged 22, therefore the 8 month old daughter matches.
I need to try and move forward to 1911 and 1921 as this adds one piece of a jigsaw as trying to find the brothers/sisters of Mary L Smith...ie the other children (if any) of Thomas.

Thanks Barbara. This is very useful. Going to try and find the other children. I use tees valley indexes regular, but with a name like Smith it is difficult trying to narrow the search down. From any info I find I then need to establish if any of them married a Fincken. I know Mary L (8 months in 1901) married a Forsyth in 1924. I then have a E Fincken as witness on the marriage certificate which is what I am trying to trace. I making an assumption that E Fincken is the married name and is a female relative of either Mary L Smith or Thomas Forsyth, as up to now I have no trace a male relative named E Fincken.
