Castlepoles Cavan - LANG & VANCE family

Hi all,

This is my first dabble into my Irish side of the family so here goes:

I'm looking for any information on my Grandparents families:

George Alfred LANG b 11 May 1911. Believed his parents are James LANG bc 1890 & Frances VANCE bc 1890 both of Castlepoles. Any information on where this is in the Townlands please let me know.

Susan Grace VANCE b 8 Dec 1916 Columbkille, Longford. Believed her parents are John James VANCE & Grace (NFD's) both of Columbkille. I will post this on the Longford board as well.

Any help much appreciated.

Castlepoles is a few miles from the town of Arva.I can remember a Herbie Lang living there in the early 60s but I imagine he has passed away.

Yes I have a Herbert Lang born 1906. Do you have anything else that you can remember?

Did you check out the 1911 Census ? It can be viewed online now and they are in Castlepoles in the Arvagh parish
