PEACOCK in Hull
« on: Sunday 08 June 08 18:47 BST (UK) »

Hi

Sorry I accidentally posted this to West Yorkshire.

I am looking for any PEACOCKs in the Hull area. In particular Thomas PEACOCK (b1776) and Elizabeth DOCKREY (b1778) married 10 aug 1795 also Jane PEACOCK (1791-1849) and Patrick FLEMING married 4 Oct 1818.

My family and my wife's famliy both have PEACOCKs from the Hull area, and I was wondering if they were related.

Chris, in a very warm and still sunny Stockport

I have found a Jane Fleming born 1791 in the 1841 census She is a widow living with what looks like her children Francis 14 and George 15 they lived in Cottage Row Short Street Kingston upon Hull.  HO17/1231/13
This may be who you are looking for

Hi

Also on the 1841 Census (HO107/1231/1231/ 2) Parish Holy Trinity are possibly Thomas Peacock & his wife Elizabeth.  Thomas was born c1776 & a Mariner, Elizabeth born c1781 living at St Marks’ Square, Hull.

On the 1851 Census (HO107; Piece: 2362; Folio: 288; Page: 17) it looks like they are at the Merchant Seamans Almshouse, Hospital Passage, Hull.
Thomas was aged 75 given as a Seaman born Hull & Elizabeth was aged 73 born Hemingby, Lincolnshire. Both given as Almspeople.

Elizabeth died in 1860 aged 83 in the West Sculcoates District of Hull but not found the death of Thomas.

I don’t know if this ties in but you maybe already have this information, better twice than not at all.
