The Blackwell Index of Non Conformist Baptisms produced by Clwyd FHS only covers the period up to 1837.

If this is her. I found TWO baptisms for her in Wrexham
Feb 24 1845. Jane D/O Richard & Pricilla Evans. abode, Bersham. Occ, Paper maker. Five entries below. March 14 1845. Jane D/O Richard & Pricilla Evans. abode, Bersham. Occ, Paper maker.
Same Parents. March 5 1847. Albert. March 19 1849. James.
I couldn't see a baptism for a Jane Evans Father Richard around that time in Llangollen Bersham baptisms start 1860

Quite frankly I don't think the Jane Evans in Bersham in 1851 is the one who later married Thomas McGee.As all the children of the Richard and Elizabeth Evans I have shown in 1841 were Baptised at Glanrafon Congregational Chapel in Llangollen it is likely that if Jane is also a child of those Parents, she would also be likely to be Baptised there.

What is Jane's birthplace on the 1871 census? and do the witnesses on her marriage cert give any clues?

on 1871 census does not show birthplace, and marriage certificate witnesses shown Martin McGee (presume relative to Thomas - Jane's husband and the other name looks like Bridget Lemsey or Lempsty - not sure which side she is from if at all. I know my late grandmother def said her grandmother was born in Wales, and apart from that only LLangollen has appeared twice on the census which def show the correct Jane Evans. Looks like will prob never know

HI Folks
I'm not convinced that we have the correct family if the Richards that have so far been found have been paper makers and agricultural labourers. They don't quite fit with the well sinker on Jane's marriage certificate.
Given that Richard was not stated as deceased at the time of her marriage, would it not be worth searching for a Richard who might be a well sinker?

This is just a bit of a wild thought!Could you have possibly have misread the Occupation of Richard on the Marriage Certificate?I looked the other day,and found the entry again today of a Richard Evans in Llangollen a Wool Spinner?

sounds interesting, William.
Is it possible to scan the marriage cert and put up the small section that has his occupation on it for us to read?

hi further to the info about Richard being married to Elizabeth Roberts - I now have in my possession birth certificate of Jane - born 26/12/1841 which would tally with the census where she was staying with sister - States Richard's occupation as Rockman - registered district Corwen, - also states residence at birth was Penddol, Llangollen.

Henry Woolford married an Ann Elizabeth Evans in Lancashire in the January quarter of 1851.I haven't located the couple in the 1851 Census, which may be not surprising as there are parts that are unreadable!I have found the following Family in the 1841 Census in Trefor Ucha Llangollen; Richard C Evans, aged 45. Elizabeth Evans, aged 40. Lydia Evans, aged 12. Sarah Evans, aged 10. Ann Evans, aged 6. Harriett Evans, aged 4. Mary Evans, aged 2. All the family are given as born in Denbighshire.HO107/1400/Book 17,Folio 24 Page4. One other thing I found was all the childrens baptisms apart from Mary at the Llangollen Glanrafon Congregational Chapel,on the Blackwell Index CD of Non Conformist Baptisms produced by Clwyd FHS.It staes that the Elizabeth the Mother's maiden name was Roberts.Again you will also find these Baptisms on the IGI.
Regards William Russell Jones Cefn Mawr Wrexham.
Re birth certificate, must be this Richard as Elizabeth Roberts shown as mother - was living at Pendoll, Llangollen at time of birth of Jane.
