Is there any way someone could do a look up on the electoral roll for me? It would be for the Southampton area, the years, I am not sure how the rolls go. The 1940's and 50's perhaps? The woman's name was Sarah Ann Kearney. Might have went by Sarah A. Born 15 March, 1882. Possibly living with a Thomas Kearney. I am trying to solve a mystery and a friend said to look at the elctoral rolls. Being in the USA, I have no idea how to go about it.

Even if the rolls are available, one would have to search by address, rather than by general area.

Crud. I have no idea what her address was. At the moment, I only have an address for 1919 and 1969. In 1919 it was 22 Church Road, Woolston. In 1969 it was 21 Cleethorpes Road, Southampton. The rolls are not available then? I am sorry, I was led to believe that they were. Thank you so much for you information.

I don't know if this helps. In the 'Kelly's Street Directory' for 1970, the head of 21 Cleethorpes Rd. was a Kearney Jn P.

Thank you Peter, that was Sarah's son. Sarah was my great grandmother and she ran off from her husband and their family to take up with another man. They ended up in the Southampton area. I am trying to find out who the other man was. Thank you for your help!

1948 Mrs Kearney now at 41 Cleethorpes Rd.
1954 Mrs Kearney still at 41 Cleethorpes Rd
1960 41 Cleethorpes Rd now headed by Mr Kearney Jn
1964 [b][/b]21 Cleethorpes Rd shows a new tennant, a Mrs S. Kearney
and you already have the entry for 1970. This is as far as the Kellys go. Hope this helps. Peter.

Up until Mrs K's name appeared at 21 Cleethorpes Rd., 1954 & 1956 showed the ocupant as a Mr. Rt. Shaw. (Robert?) Pete.

Thank you so much! Fantastic! I have been told that I may be able to get the electoral rolls by contacting the Southampton Archives and letting them know that I am in the US and need help accessing the rolls. So I am off to do that. Thank you once again, you are the best!
