marriage of Sarah Donnelly
« on: Monday 09 June 08 20:06 BST (UK) »

I am searching in vain to find out any information on a Sarah Donnelly born in 1904, Glasgow. Her father was Hugh Donnelly born in 1876, Glasgow and her mother was Sarah Ann (maiden name Kivlochan) Donnelly born in Ireland 1878. She appeared on her mother death certificate in 1926, unmarried and registered her address as 42 Wilkes Lane, Dundee. A very kind roots chatter informed me that that address is St Josephs Church and suggested she could have been a housekeeper. On Scotlands People i have searched nearly all marriages between 1926 and 1932 and come up with a blank. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciate

Are you sure she was married? If so, the marriage might have taken place somewhere besides Scotland or the spelling of the surname might be different.

Hi,  Donnelly was Sarah's maiden name and i am only guessing she got married.  I have done searches on ancestor.com for a marriage in England, Ireland and Wales but still nothing. She also had a sister Mary born in 1900 and i cannot find out anything on her.  Sarah's last address was St Josephs Church so i thinking now that perhaps she could have become a nun?
Thank you for the reply
regards Carolyn
