Nothing for Alexander & Catherine in 1871 and nothing for sons George, Alexander & Hugh

There is a 14yr old Mary Hood b Auchenlock with grandfather Daniel Cook in Ayrshire

There is a John Hood aged 18 b Ayr shown as a pauper in the house of refuge in St Quivox
