Transfering emails from one PC to another
« on: Wednesday 11 June 08 17:28 BST (UK) »

Hi,

My PC needs a complete Wipe and re-install but I would like to save my emails that are in Outlook Express then put them back on afterwards, Has anyone got any ideas? Thank You in advance.

Kind Regards,

Gordon.

File : Export : Messages ..... note where the file was saved to and copy this file to disc or memory stick etc . Copy/transfer the file to the newly formatted and set up  machine and then reverse the procedure using "File : Import : Messages."

PS your address book can be saved and transferred in exactly the same way.

The only downside of doing that is that your messages will no longer display in time and date order (well, at least they don't in the full version of Outlook).  Having said that, I don't know any other way of doing it  Undecided
