There's a death for an Ellen WYETH age 4 Dec quarter of 1871 in Basingstoke Registration District 2cc 117.

Bearcat - I don't think that's the one b. Brockenhurst - I sthink she married John White and calls herself Flora - her middle name   Huh  Her two brothers are living with her in Brockenhurst.....

Ellen Flora E WYETH married John WHITE March quarter of 1886.

Hi All
Firstly thanks to you all for the quick replies.
You can see I have been having the same problems with my research. I belaive the 1851 Census for Walter is the one that ended up a Shoemaker in New St Basingstoke married to fanny Palmer. They are probably related but not  to me directly. I do know that my grandfather Francis ran away from home when he was about 13, lied about his age and joined the Army. Aparently he did not get on with his stepmother. So Walter remarried after 1881.

I will  be sending for My grandfather's (Francis George Wyeth) Birth Certificate. I Have found a registration with his name spelt as Francis George Wyethe in Basingstoke 1878. When he married in 1915 his surname had changed again to Wythe. His father on the marriage certificate is  Walter Wythe Bricklayer (Deceased).
