Hi Adam

Thank you very much that very helpful.

Would you be able to help me a bit more do you know where I could check to see who else was buried with Margaret Ann, beloved wife of Joseph Wade of Stanley, who died August/7/1898 aged 44 years. She was my 2nd Great great grandmother I don’t live anywhere near Durham so an address or telephone number would be grand.

Thank you very much for your help

Hello Kellie. I think the only way that you can find out about the other family members is
http://www.durham.gov.uk/gro/newgro.nsf/search?open&C0514839091009102008$

Adam could I get the Barras details please.

I have to say what a fantastic service to researchers your information is.

For information, There is a list held in the entry of the St Mary's Church in Barnard Castle, of all the old gravestone names, many from 1700/1800, and a locator to find the grave, these graves are all next to the church, some inscriptions are difficult to read

Many thanks  Smiley

Thank you so much - we have successive generations with the names Thomas and Thomas Henry which soon becomes quite confusing!   Smiley

Hi Adam

I was wondering if there are any more Dawson gravestones in the St Thomas cemetery?  I'd be delighted if there is a John Dawson but basically any would be a boon.  Smiley

Many thanks

Hello Marie. No more Dawsons at Stanley Crook.
What year and age for John were you looking for?

Hi Adam

He died in 1891 at around 36 years of age.  He lived in Billy Row so I would have thought that St Thomas would be the relevant churchyard.  Perhaps it is an unmarked grave?  As far as I know this was the only churchyard in the Billy Row area so I can't think of anywhere else he would be.  His wife was called Jane.

Kind regards

Hello Marie. I have had a look at all the Dawson inscriptions that I have  at Witton le Wear, Tow law, Stanley , Etherley, Hunwick and Crook and there is no one with the name and date that you are looking for.

Thank you so much for your efforts Adam.  It is very much appreciated.  Hopefully he will appear in Parish Records if/when I can get to look through them.  I'm assuming that these will be at the Central Records Office in Durham rather than held by the individual churches.

I really appreciate your time.

Kind regards

Marie
