Long Newton. Not on my maps. ???
« on: Wednesday 15 April 09 07:16 UTC (UK) »

Hi,
I'm looking for Long Newton in Durham. It was there in 1760 but now it isn't. Huh
I have an excellent road atlas for Britain but the only Newton in Durham is Newton Aycliffe.
It's in the Hugh Wallis batch numbers and I have a whole lot of ancestors born there, but I can't find it in my atlas or Multi Maps or Google maps.
Can someone please help?
Leonie.

Added; I just found a Newton Morrell,  Grin  Newton Aycliffe is just north of Darlington and Newton Morrell is just south of Darlington. So it must be there somewhere.

I found it.  Grin
In my road atlas it's under S-o-T.  Huh  Stockton-on-Tees.
I guess if you lived there you'd know that.
Thanks folk.
