Trying to trace the children and Grandchildren for Eva A. and Ebenezer ENDICOTT, married 1916 in Steyning. Can anyone help with a lookup or directions where to look please. Thanks Ian
I have done a search on FreeBMD and only one birth is showing for this couple......of course not all records have been transcribed as yet to this site, so I will check on the UK Births Index for you as well.
ENDICOTT Joyce E M June Qtr 1923 W.Ham 4a 582
I will get back to you after a more thorough search
I have done a search of the Birth Index from 1916 to 1923 and did not find anymore than previously sent. Several years have quarters missing... not sure if they were damaged or lost.......... but there may have been more children for this couple in those missing sections.
I will go beyond 1923 and see if there are any more.
Me again Ian Steyning is not only a town, it is also a district.
Knowing a little about your past family history and its connections with Brighton, I suggest you also take look at Hove and Preston. Long before 1900, these two villages had become a continuation of Brighton's urban sprwal to the west and north, but all Births Marriages & Deaths at addresses there were still being indexed under Steyning rather than Brighton itself.
Early street directories might also help locate a family address
