Is anyone researching, or has anyone come accross, ancestors from Poland, who arrived as refugees into the Leeds/Bradford/Halifax areas c 1851, after the 1848 Hungarian War of Independance? - I believe a fairly large group of young men arrived in  Yorkshire at the invitation of radical locals, who offered them help, apprenticeships etc., as they were unable to return home to Russian Poland.
any info at all would be great !!
