This is an extract from the Times, edition 18th May 1848.

Does anyone recognise the Turnors?

"On the 13th inst. at Carlton, near Selby, by the Rev. B.W. Johnstone of Selby, Thomas Turnor, Esq. of Snaith, second son of Michael Turnor, Esq. of Brereton, Staffordshire to Rose Julia, second daughter of the Rev. Samuel Gilbert Crompton, rector of Carlton."

In the 1851 census of Carlton, W.Riding, is my ggggrandfather, Thomas Turner, living with his parents in law. So far so good.

He gave his age as 27, which would give a year of birth as 1924/25.
His place of birth was given as Dunstall, Staffs.

Any help of hints much appreciated.

Regards

Thanks Catherine,

the mg certificate gives no additional information, apart from occupations for Thomas and his dad: "Land Agent" Sad

Both are given as "of full age".

Still stuck.
