The answer was unless you pay for the best paper acid free etc

When registering my mother's death a few years ago I remarked to the registrar on the fact that the entries in the register were written with pen and ink whilst the copies were produced on a computer, and I asked why.   She told me that the ink used for the 'original' register is of a very special mix and will not fade, whereas most ink will fade quite quickly.   I now wish I had asked about the paper as well!

Looks like we'll have to put all our work in a lead-lined box and bury it in the garden - to be dug up in 100 years -  Undecided Undecided   if the planet is still here, that is !!

A friend of mine has a diary written by his mother - she wrote on both sides of the paper in an ordinary notebook with a ball point pen - almost all of it is unreadable, the paper got damp, the ink has run and has gone right through the thin paper pages, very sad  Cry
