Do you have any idea which part of Surrey - it's quite a big place

I've just checked the Surrey Marriage Index but they are not showing there so may be the metropolitan bit that is not included.  Or later than 1837 of course.

Hi Cath

Basically there are two parts to Surrey, the rural area and the metropolitan part which could be classed as part of London.  The Surrey Marriage Index covers the Rural area with some of the metropolitan churches such as Southwark but not all of them.

Hi Cath

I always get a bit confused about the metropolitan bits as I think they be in Middlesex but Genuki explains some of it and is quite good for reference. http://homepages.gold.ac.uk/genuki/SRY/

That's good Cath, I often forget to use Genuki but it is a very interesting and helpful site.
