Thanks Adam,
I was hoping it was my G Grandmother Pheobe, she is said to have died in childbirth in 1934 ish, but I can't find her death or even marriage, back to the drawing board!

Hi Adam,

Once again (and finally) could you give me the details for the SNAITH inscriptions in Escomb.
I popped across to the cemetery yesterday, but access to the few remaining stones was quite difficult!

Once again, thanks in advance.

Mark.

Hello Mark. And here is the correct inscription for Escomb. If you read the first posting you may have noticed that I combined the surnames for the Old Saxon graveyard with the Escomb cemetery in Hallimond road.
This Snaith is  from the the old Saxon Church. There are no Snaith memorial stones in the Hallimond road cemetery :-

Sacred to the memory of Mary, wife of William Snaith of Etherley, who died September/22/1828 aged 34 years.
Also Elizabeth, wife of William Snaith, who died may/5/1837 aged 45 years.

Hello Lisa. Only one for Gilroy:-

Of your charity, pray for the soul of Jane, beloved wife of Martin Gilroy, who died 16/December/1932 aged 36 years
Also of Joseph, their son who died in infancy.
R.I.P.

Adam, that is Brilliant That's my G. Grandmother.  I've finally found her!  You don't have an idea where about's she is in the churchyard?  I don't live in the area anymore, but I'll make the journey now!  Many Thanks. Lisa...

Hello Lisa. I think it was a small  stone that is leaning against the wall on the right hand side of the cemetery.
It is not the original place for the stone and would have been moved in one of the clearances made in the cemetery.
Unfortunately the cemetery is in an awful mess with bramble bushes and weeds all over the place.
If you leave it until the plant start to grow you will probably not be able to find it.
I do have some Gilroy, Catholic baptism and deaths at Tow Law and Crook from the mid to late 1800's if you are interested

Hello Lisa. If you go to look up requests and start a new subject with the headings:-
Look up request for Gilroy baptisim.
and one for
Look up for Gilroy Deaths.
I will then post them.
They may not be yours but they may help someone else.

Adam:

I'd very much appreciate the names under GARRY.  I have a few pockets of Garry's that I'm trying to piece together.

Thank you, Linda

Would the Hardy inscriptions include Thomas Hardy?

Thank you,
