Female Factory - Historic Site at Ross - Link

This link is an overview report which was written, in July 1998, by Eleanor C. Casella
who was the Project Director of the Ross Factory Archaeology Project. www.parks.tas.gov.au/publications/tech/rossarch/arch.html

I find it fascinating the way one is led to some of these links. I started by looking at a link on the Orange Lodge of Scotland thread which mentioned a book called "Great Shame" written by an Australian writer called Thomas Keneally. That led me to  Murray Waldren's long, informative piece in "The Weekend Australian" titled "The Great Obsession."  Upon reaching the point where Thomas told Murray that his wife's great grandmother had spent time in a female factory I decided to investigate further.
