STEVENS Family
« on: Sunday 09 August 09 22:10 UTC (UK) »

I wonder if any one can help me.

I am trying to trace a John Stevens born app. 1877 +/- 1 Yr in the area of Bridgwater, Somerset.

I know he had 5 older brother all of whom went to sea and 3 died at sea. He also had a sister I believe is Rose Stevens B. 1880 same area.
Also he married Emily Maidment in 1908 in Wells Somerset.

I am looking for his early years therefore his parents, names of brothers.

Any help or info would be gratefully received.

Thank you  Cheesy

Great job Linda.  I found John, Emily and Rose in the same house on the 1911 Index and have been trawling the 1901 since then.

Yep... from the side of the world that won the cricket last night our time... Grin Grin Grin Grin

The household in Wells is the one that I found on the 1911 Index with Rose and John together.  Wonder if the Rose that I found in the workhouse is the right one??  Wonder if she's there because both parents died and the boys are all off to sea??

Hello looks like you have had lots of luck with this...

I do know that the parents of John and Rose died and that John went in to a workhouse I believe shoemaking.
