1901 lookup please - BATEMAN

I am trying to find Charles Henry Bateman

born in Hull in September 1882
he married Hannah Elizabeth Mckay in 1908 and died in 1921

I cant seem to find anything on him or his family, I am going to order his birth cert this week hopefully
any help would be great

Ancestry website has a Charles Bateman dob about 1878 born Hull. Millers Grinder.
Parents William and Elizabeth, brothers Alfred and Charles......living in Sculcoates Hull

that is a possible, I know he was raised and continued to live in the sculcoates area

He did have a son who is still alive but each time I ask my mum about it or ask for his address she seems to change the subject!

I could search the address myself but it makes me wonder why she doesnt want to give it, ah well

Had a look around.

Birth shown as 3 Qtr 1882 Vol 9d page 211 Sculcoates

Charles Henry married in 2nd Quarter 1908 Reference Vol 9d page 312 to McKay at St Marks, Hull.

Looked for any births after 1908 for Bateman with maiden name of mother as McKay and found 1 in 2nd Quarter 1913 ref Vol 8e page 344 in Burnley. ( Marjorie A Bateman). Burnley is not that far from Hull. I didn't find any in Hull but that does not mean anything for certain as I am not sure when the records started to include the mothers maiden name.

If you had marriage cert it would lead to other information that will help.

thank you all so much!!!!

it certainly gives me something I can go on now

as to the birth in Burnley, I think we can rule that one out. They only had 1 child before charles died, a son called Charlie, who I do have photos of and have his birth

I know charles died from pneumonia, after getting caught in a bad rain storm, my mum rembers him being told not to stand in front of the fire to dry and to get changed, a few days later he came down with it, so no more children came from the marriage.

Im a bit confused here..Is Charlie Charles brother or his son with Hannah Kckay? and when did he /they die.

Charlie is the son of Charles and Hannah

Charles died and Charlie is the one still alive but mum wont give his address

dont you wish they used different names lol
