I was doing someone a favour of a lookup in the Cape Town Archives and came across this Death Notice.  I am posting it here in case someone looks for this man who lived in Surrey but who died on board a ship and his death is registered here in South Africa.

Name : Ronald GORDON
Father : John (deceased)
Mother : Louise Elizabeth (deceased)
Born : London, England
Occupation : Master Engineer and Director of Companies
Date of Death : 1 February 1958
Place of Death : At Sea 34 degrees 28' S  23 degrees 28' E on board TMV "City of Port Elizabeth"
Cause of Death : Coronary Thrombosis
Address : 23 Parkwood Avenue, Esher(?), Surrey, England.
Spouse : Nora Isabella
Place of Marriage : Beamish Parish Church, Durham
Children: Beatrice Florence HALFON

His Will was drawn by Cliftons, 7 New Square, London, W.C.2.  Besides a monetary bequest to his solicitor, the balance of his estate was left to Janet Florence GORDON.  She appears to have lived in London as her address on the Acquittance is c/o Cliftons.  There is no indication in the file as to the relationship of Ronald GORDON to Janet Florence GORDON.
