Sorry...new at all this detective work...not sure even if this is what I need to do Huh

I was wondering how I would find out any birth etc information on Thomas Henry Richards. 

I have an Australian Marriage Cert that states his birthplace is Cornwall and he was 28yo in (17 Dec) 1866. 

I am not sure when he emigrated to Australia.  His occupation is listed as  a Miner and his parents were Thomas Richards and Mary Richards (not sure if that was listed incorrectly or was in actual fact her maiden name also).

Thomas Henry Richards married Sarah Ann Sawyer (her first Marriage) who's ancestry are the Honeys on Sunningwell.

I hope someone can point me in right direction on what I need to do/get

If the info he gives at his marriage was correct, it points to a date of birth around 1838.

Civil Registration began in 1837 - so you may be lucky and be able to find a birth cert for him.
Or we can see what comes up on 1841 and 1851 censuses.

"Cornwall" is rather a wide area, though, and Richards not an unusual name!

I am unable to check the indexes for any possibles at present (as the website is down) but will try to have a squint later on.

Hmmm as I thought, several Thomas Henry Richards in the birth indexes around that year in Cornwall.

Off to censsues to see if there is one with parents Thomas and MAry ...
