Please can someone find my 3x Gt Grandparents, Thomas & Mary PAWLETT or PAULETT on the 1851 or 1861 census please to enable me to trace their birth/baptism?
Thomas was described as a "Labourer of Deeping Fen" in the baptism records of his children which took place in Spalding between 1823 and 1838.
He was buried in Spalding in 1870 aged 89 and his wife was living in Spalding in 1881 so I'm not entirely sure where they would have been at the time of these censii, probably Deeping Fen. Thomas should have been about 70 and 80 in the 1851 and 1861 respectively and Mary 50 and 60.
My many thanks
Brenda

I can't thank you enough for these. No wonder I couldn't find Thomas's baptism in Lincolnshire!
If it's no trouble I'd love to see the 1841 as well
Thank you so much

National Burial Index 21 May 1849 Rhoda PAWLETT (22) 3 Feb 1838 William PAWLETT (13) both at Spalding
Re John MORLEY of Bicker 1755 .... he was buried there 30 Sept 1825 (70) and apparently fathered children there in the 1790s, so perhaps not your chap (IGI Batch C025371)
"My marriage index" has PECK as a transcription, I haven't seen original. Perhaps she was Mary PECK of Bourne (1770) ... perhaps Edenham register would show she was a minor at time of marriage.
I have just found a burial 31 March 1836 Swinstead, John MORLEY (78) ... Swinstead burials in NBI start at 1813 - perhaps Rhoda died before then.
Thank you again, Geoff
Looks like John of Bicker is not mine. Back to the drawing board with that one. However, I do think it likely the one buried in Swinstead in 1836 is mine so IF the burial age is correct I've got to look around 1758.
As for his & Rhoda's marriage, I have a copy of the register page in front of me, she was not a minor, unfortunately the witness names don't help but it definitely says PEECK. I read that to be Peake and since last writing to you have found a baptism in 1764 in Gunby of a Rhoda Peake d/o Thomas & Rhoda. I have followed the search through & 2 generations further back Rhoda's grandparents had a son named Luis - John & Rhoda named a son Lewis. So I think I may be on the right track but this is all conjecture at the moment, I cannot rely on IGI, so I think I have a lot of spade work to do.
Thanks again, Geoff. You have certainly been a great help.
Brenda
