According to the 1851 and 1861 the censii my 3x Gt Grandfather, Thomas PAWLETT or PAULETT was born in Empingham between 1797 and 1800.
Could somebody be kind enough to look for a baptism for him please?
Any other Pawlett records found while looking for his would also be much appreciated, if that isn't being too cheeky.
Many thanks
Brenda

Brenda,
It was no trouble. I have the records of a number of Rutland villages on CD. Obtained from LRFHS - Leicestershire and Rutland Family History society. I don't have their website name to hand, but if you Google LRFHS you should find them.
I do have a dead-end in my tree in Lincolnshire, so I will take you up on that kind offer when I get time to remind myself which village it is etc.
Re Thomas - in some of my records there are big gaps of 10 -20 years or more, but there aren't at that point for Empingham. There are plenty of baptisms recorded around 1797. The LRFHS are very reliable and I have yet to find an error in their work, but we are all human, so he may be there in the actual parish records. I did think they might have moved though - Thomas might have thought he was born in Empingham because his brothers and sisters all were.
Did you notice the earlier Tobias's in Hambleton? Looks like it might be a family name and so they might have come from there originally.
