Adam, Thanks very much for that info.  A couple jump out as being 'mine' and I am sure I will be able to fit more in.  If I was in Cockfield, how would I get to Lynesack?

Hello Vera. coming out of Cockfield head for Butterknowle.
Go through Butterknowle (it is just a long street) and before the left hand bend at the top of Butterknowle there is a turning to the right that leads up to the church of St John. ( or just ask for St Johns church when you are in butterknowle)
You are now in the chapelry of Lynesack.

Thanks, again, Adam,

I struggle with the Lowe/Lowes family and most of my info I got just from Census records.  I am at Alston and only very occasionally get to the R.Office for your area.  I will keep this info on file and maybe one day it will fit in.

Hello Madpants. Here is the inscription for the one Hind gravestone at Lynesack.
The condition of the stone is a bit faint on the edges and that of course is where the dates are, hence the ??:-
In memory of Margaret Hind, relict of Christopher Hind, who died July/9/1864? aged 88 years.
Also John, son of the above named Margaret Hind, who died February/19/1866?
age 66 years.
Also James, son of the above named Margaret Hind, who died May/23/1861 aged 55 years.
