Hello Brian. I have not gone as far as Bishop Auckland with the gravestone inscriptions.
There is a Barras (but no Thomas) at Crook and One at Stanley Crook. They are about six  miles or so from BA

Hello Brian. If you want the inscriptions you will need to post the request on the correct threads ie crook and Stanley.
This gives others who may be researching BARRAS at Crook or Stanley the opportunity to read the inscriptions.

Hello Helene. There are no Ellwood inscriptions at Lynesack and the only other Ellwood that I have is for Frosterley but they are for the 1980's.

Hello Sandy.I do not have a  Thomas and Hannah Jane Dowson at Lynesack, just a Matthew and Mary.
I had a look for all the Thomas Dowson's that I have, who died around 1920 and the only one that I have is for one at Escomb, but his wife was Margaret.

Hello
Is there any chance you could see if there are any Robinsons of Butterknowle amongst the MI's?

Many thanks

Hello Ann. Here they are:-

To the memory of Joseph Robinson, son of George and Elizabeth Robinson of Butterknowle, who died November/13/1874 aged 6 years and 8 months
Also Mary Elizabeth, their daughter, who died November/15/1874 aged 2 years and 5 months
Also John William, their son, who died March/21/1877 aged 10 years and 10 months.
Also of Robert, their son, who died March/27/1884 aged 25 years.

In memory of George, dearly beloved husband of Elizabeth Robinson of Butterknowle, who died December/23/1907 aged 80 years.
Also of Elizabeth, his beloved wife, who died November/7/1913 aged 81 years.

In memory of Jane Robinson, who died at Lane head 1880 age 70 years.
Joseph Robinson, husband of the above, died 1880 aged 82 years.
(The above stone is in poor condition and covered with lichen, hence the sparse information.)

There is another gravestone but the date is way past the date that I use for putting on the board
the dates on the stone is for 1970's but withe ages of 90 years it may be useful.
If you want it I can send it via the personal message board.

Thanks for all the info Adam - that's excellent! I'll get back to you about the later inscription, if I may, once I see what's what!
