James Jervis b 1836 married Honor Swinerton in 1855 in Wolstanton and were living with their daughter Mary Ann Peake and husband in Burslem. I believe that they were living in Burslem after their marraige in 1855 and am looking for the 1861 and 1871 census data to understand what other children they had.
Appreciate help as always. Many thanks
Regards
Graham

Hi
I notice that you have posted quite a large number of lookup requests for the surname Jervis?
Are you doing a one name study?

Not really, Carole,
I am only interested in Jervis families in north Staffordshire Shropshire borders where my family comes from. There are many others Jervis families outside of that area and spreading into Wales which I am not interested in during this period.
Unfortunately there are still plenty to choose from even here.

Regards
Graham

Hi
Thanks for the reply - but is it correct to say that you are doing a one name study of any Jervis in those areas - or are all the lookup requests in connection to your own direct ancestry?

It is in connection with my own ancestry in that my family disappears into the main group of Jervis families in Stoke on Trent area and I am intersted in establishing the main groupings as part elimination and to understand where the main families migrate back to earlier.
Best wishes
Graham

Many thanks Suz,
Does it say in the 1861 what occupation James then had?
