Wow thank you so much to every one for all this help. I honestly did not think I was going to get anywhere with this man. But in the space of a weekend have learned so much.

Hi there Haydn
Dont know if you want this info or not but I was in Clunes this week doing some of my family history and found these graves.

The Head stone reads
Sacred tot he Memory
Thomas Roberts
Blacksmith of Clunes
Son of
Roberts Roberts
Morfa, Carnarvonshire, North Wales
Departed this life April 12th 1868
Aged 45 Years
Highly respected and deeply regretted
By a large Circle of friends

The grave reads
In memory of
Robert Roberts
Native of Llanpwst, North Wales
Who Died at Clunes April 2nd 1904
Aged 81 years

My family had a blacksmith shop at clunes so may be they worked together?Huh
Cheers and hope that is of interest to you

Hi Trevor

Thank you very much for the information. I do not think at the moment I can fit those names into my family. But given time you never know.

Am I right in saying that the Clunes area must have been a common destination for the Welsh people to go to?

I have also just discovered another relation that is said to have died in Australia. His name was David Donald Roberts who died there about 1890. Not got a clue yet where or anything. All I know is that he married a Elizabeth Mulholland, and they had the following children: Esther, Robert, Elizabeth, David, and Gwen.

Ring any bells with anybody out there?
