Could someone please clean and brighten this photo please. It has my Grandma, Clara standing in the 2nd row from the front and 3rd from the left. The photo says that it was taken in 1915 and is the Guild of St Agnes. It would have been taken somewhere in Bradford, Yorkshire.
Does anyone have any idea what the Guild of St Agnes might have been please? I have tried Googling, but nothing that matches comes up.
Thanks for these links Ambly. I didn't link the Guild Website to the photo as it seems to be more about child care, but I will send them the photo and see if they can tell me a bit about the history of it. My Grandmother was high church of England, never RC, to my knowledge, so I'd love to know the full story. I certainly hadn't though about sending them a copy of the photo, thanks for the idea.

Thanks for the close up as well. I've just realised for the first time that the girl to my Grandma's left is probably her sister, Jenny!!! I'm so thrilled to see them both together.

Yes they look alike don't they? Jenny would have been 17 in this photo, she was a tiny person, I'm told, where Grandma was more amazonic. She does look slightly more mature in the face. I'd never thought to look for her in the group when I though initially it was a class, school photo. So thanks to Ambly saying it was a church organisation, I thought to search the group more broadly.
I have asked my Dad to scan just the 2 of them at a high resolution and I'll post that separately to see if someone can make something of it.
