Haverhill/Ipswich Baptism: Elizabeth ADAMS

I have Elizabeth ADAMS marrying William SCOTCHER (a weaver) 1786 in Haverhill.  Their children's names included Mary, William, Edward Adams Scotcher, John (after William Scotcher's father) and Elizabeth born 1804 (the last child).

IGI mentions an Edward Adams and his wife Elizabeth TURNER (a name which crops up a bit in the family in later generations) baptising a daughter Elizabeth at around the right time in Ipswich at St. Mary Elms.

At about the same time that Elizabeth Adams married her William Scotcher the weaver in Haverhill, a Mary Adams had also recently married another William Scotcher (labourer) and were having children in Haverhill with similar names!  Could they have been sisters marrying cousins?

Maybe this Adams family were just over the border into Cambs (Castle & Shudy Camps etc) where there were quite a few Scotchers before the late 1700s.

Any help would be very gratefully appreciated.  Thank you.
