SYRED - Marriage/Census Lookups Please
« on: Sunday 22 June 08 22:21 BST (UK) »

The IGI contains the following record:

Syred, Herbert.  Christening 11 May 1818.  Mother:Sarah Syred

I would much appreciate marriage and census information on either Herbert or Sarah Syred.

Irret,

Thank you so much.  This is Very interesting!!!

Caroline Syred, the daughter of Herbert Syred, got married in 1859 in St. Mary's Church in the Marylebone District!   Your census find is the first indication I have of other possible members of the family being in that area.

On Caroline's marriage certificate Herbert's occupation is given as Servant (does not say he is deceased) but his wife Hannah shows up in Dorking in 1861 as a widow.  So apparently Herbert died between 1859 and 1861 - although I've not found a death record.

thanks again.  I've now got a couple of additional avenues of research.
