I`m wanting to know if anyone has access to the Federation index for Tasmania. I`m wanting any chidren born to Percy Thomas Mckinlay and Mary Jessamine Adele Forrest Mckinlay.

Hi thankyou for your help,
I made a few errors in my spelling and didn`t really explain myself properly sorry so must have confused everyone. I wanted the children of Percy Thomas Mckinlay and his wife Mary Jessamine Adel Forrest Mckinlay. I`m getting the information for a friend. Percy married after the 1900`s so I really need details that come after the 1900`s. I only have the Tasmanian Pioneer index but need information from the Tasmanian Federation Index which is details of Birth Deaths and Marriages after this year.

Next time you need to alter a request after replies have been posted it may be a good idea to just to edit it leaving the original request....both ShirleySweetland and my replies look a bit odd now you have completely rewritten your request.

No problems at all. When I edit a post I find it is best to either strike a line through the original, or if you prefer do the alterations and make a note at the bottom such as

Edit....incorrect date or spelling correction.

It was just that your original request didn't include the Federation Index and ShirleySweetland referred you to earlier records. Grin

Thankyou Cando for that information next time I will check my message before I post it. I did mention the Federation index in my request. The Federation index are dates after the 1900`s.

It may be a good idea to make a new thread and head it Lookup Tasmanian Federation Index - there are 'chatters who have this disk. Alternatively you could alter the topic heading on your initial request.

Don't fuss johngirl....the only reason I mentioned the title of the post is that your request will attract the attention of any chatter who has the Federation Disk for Tasmania. Of course you have the option that Shirley Sweetland has suggested.

If you already had lots of info on the family, then you would link this post but as there isn't any new info I would leave it.

No right or wrong way to do things...just the best way to get a result. Grin

I will stop fussing. I`m just grateful for your help. Hopefully now I will get somewhere. I`m not actually researching Percy myself but getting info for a friend. He has been waiting for info on another message board but hasen`t got a result. He has been waiting for quite a while so I thought I would give him a hand. I will have to introduce him to rootschat.
