My gt-grandfather, Roland Higgins, dob 11 Feb. 1871, we believe was born in Shropshire. He had a younger sister , Hannah, who remained in England and was visited by Canadian relatives on leave during WWII. Roland's brothers, George and an unknown, also emigrated to Canada. A nephew who lived in England, Jack Williams, visited Roland in Canada in the late 1920's or early 1930's. If this matches up with your family history, please contact me.

Thanks, lizdb. Yes, I had that info...but what I was checking for was "Is this MY Roland or just a Roland???" as I have seen a few of them in my researching. I'm searching for anecdotal verification that will further corroborate the Roland/Hannah connection. The George connection just appeared of Friday,when at a funeral , a distant cousin mentioned him out of the blue. I'm just seeking verification from as many angles as I can since it is so easy to get on the wrong track.

Hi again, Roland's dob was found in a family history article from the 1970's, no actual bc. But I shall order that bc you found of Rowland and see if it proves correct. I appreciate your help.

Hello Karen...yes, Roland and Margaret's daughter Ethel Gertrude Higgins is my grandma. They lived in the town of Birnie, Manitoba. Where do you fit in on the family tree???
