Hi again Maxine,
I hope your move to the new place goes ok. I know how horrible moving can be!
I think that my Bridget Culhane was the sister of John Joseph Robert Culhane. As her parents are James Culhane and Catherine Murphy as well. I know that she was born somewhere in Limerick, Ireland in about c.1854. She married my G/G grandfather, Patrick Kinnane in 1883 in the Ipswich area. They had six children. So there is a small connection possibly? I am continuing my search on the Culhane's this weekend though.
Thanks again for the info!
Erin

Hi Alana-Maree Your Ellen Theresa Culhane was sister to our Annie Mary Culhane(how married William O'Brien) and sister Bridget Culhane who also married an O'Brien Francis Joseph.(brothers) Here is some info I have found to help you on your way. Mary Margaret Smith born Cavan, Ireland abt. 1847 Mar. John Joseph Robert Culhane 22 July, 1866 as you said. I have her death as 25 March, 1909 Pine Mt? They had 10 children together I also have your Ellen Theresa born 29 Dec. 1876 died 1917 is this correct? I have more info if you would like it,also any information your can give me on your family line that I can add to Ellen Theresa would be great. Regards Maxine(I lived in Ipswich for many years) we still have family and friends there.

Hi!!!!!
I just found this forum. I think I'm from Lucy's lineage, as (I think) Lucy had Julia (great grandmother), who had Mary (nana), who had my mum, who had me I'd love to find out some more.
My nana always spoke about Moggill and loved it out there.
As far as I know, Catherine was burnt in a fire in Moggill, and then they named a church in her honour called St Catherines Church, which was then moved to Toowoomba.

From the research in above links, and through talking to my aunty:
Charles O'Brien married Catherine News- they were the ones who came over on one of the ships. One of their daughters was Lucy O'Brien, who married Timothy O'Driscoll They then had Julia O'Driscoll and a few others Julia then had Mary (my grandmother), however Mary I believe was brought up by Lucy and Tim. Mary married my grandad and became a Moran They then had 6 kids, one of which is my mother.
I think that's how I fit into the equation

Hi again Moonshine,
Still can't find a birth for Lucy ... have found other children of Charles O'BRIEN and Catherine NEWS ... the first five were born in Lurgan, Co Armagh. Catherine was b. on "Queen of the Colonies" 1863 and the others were b. in Qld.
Did find the marriage of Lucy O'Brien to Timothy O'DRISCOLL 1892 Qld.
I wonder where and what year Lucy was born?
Would you like the information I have on the family? I will send my email address through a personal messsage so just let me know.
Really pleased to have found another descendant
Gail

Hi Gail, I'm Kristie
From the very first post in this forum by Maxine:
"Looking for any rootschatters that have these families. James Culhane b. 1818 Ireland m. Catherine Murphy. Son - John Joseph Robert b. 1845 Ardlaghan County Limerick. m. Mary Margaret Smith. Daughter - Annie Mary Culhane b. 1878 Aust. m. William O'Brien b. 1873 Aust. I have information on O'Brien's but have just started to discover my Culhane(Cullen) links. William O'Brien son of Charles O'Brien b. 1809 Ireland Armagh died 1905 moggill married Catherine News 1829-1902 Charles O'Brien emigrated to QLD with 2 brother William and James aboard the "Queen of the colonies" 1863. They all settled in the area of Moggill QLD. Charles the Elder had 11 children with Catherine Charles 1854 mar. Annie Garrigan John 1856 mar minnie Coffey Edward 1858 mar. ? then Lizzie McKay(Marsh) Mary 186? mar. james Wishart Catherine 1863 mar. Daniel Howard Patrick 1864 mar. Annie Quigley Felix 1866 mar. Mary Marsh Lucy 1868 mar. Timothy O'Driscoll James 1870 mar. Hannah Mary Hall William 1872 mar. Annie Culhane (as above) Frances(frank) 1874 mar Bridget culhane Have searched old links and posts no much there, so have put the main descendent's on here for all to view. Hope there is is someone here you know about"
I found a list of people on the Queen of the Colonies- http://www.merriottfamiliesgenealogy.net/queen_of_the_colonies.htm
Lucy O'Brien married Timothy O'Driscoll, and then they had Julie (my great grandmother), and Julie had Mary out of wedlock, and Julie married I think a Jimmy Maddern, and they had a few Maddern's.
I'll PM you
