Thomas Taylor 1891, 1901
« on: Monday 31 December 07 13:16 GMT (UK) »

I am trying to find the details of a Thomas Taylor who is described as a Principal Goal Warder at Stafford on his son's John Thomas Taylor (b 1873)marriage certificate in 1896.

I have so far been unable to find the family with certainty on the 1881 census and hope that the occupation and the closer census dates to the marraige will provide the clue.

Appreciate any help.

Many thanks
and a Happy New Year.

Graham,

This is just a hunch but may be worth a dig.

One of my Taylor ancestors (gggg uncle),  also by the name of Thomas Taylor b. 1800 moved away from the family's home area of Sandbach in Cheshire and made a life for himself in Warwick.

He had a son, Thomas Francis Taylor, born abt 1837, Warwick.

Could there be a connection?

Nick Taylor.

Hi Nick,

I cannot see an obvious link. My Thomas was born c 1847 in Birmingham and I don't know who his parents were. Taylor is such a common name that I am sure that the chances of a relationship must be small.

Best wishes

Graham
