Would someone be so kind to look up the year etc of my gt grandfathers death please?
His name was Allen Greaves born abt 1876 Astley,Worcs.
He may have died between 1930-1950 more likely long before 1950 tho because my dad doesnt remember his grandad at all (dad was born 1939).
Wifes name was Emma if thats any help. They lived at Astely as far as I know so the death may have been registered in Kidderminster.

Hi
For that period, you will need to search the full GRO index which is available at your nearest main library if you live in the UK. It can also be searched online if you have an Ancestry subscription or at www.findmypast.com which is a paysite
A search over such a long period involves downloading 4 images for every year searched - potentially a minimum of 40 images just from 1930-1939 which is very time consuming I'm afraid

to Emma Boucher, MARTLEY 6c 427.
If he died in the Astley area I think it would be registered in Martley.

Hi Jim,
You have the right details for my gt grandad! Marriage and 1881 census.
Allen was my grandmothers father.
We have estimated that he died some time before 1950 as his youngest son Alf was married that year but my gt aunt(Alfs widow) says she never met her father in law as he'd already died before she met Alf. Alf was the youngest born 1920. So any time between 1920-late 1940s he could have died.
I too have seen the Allen Greaves died 1930 Dudley and got quite excited bout that one. But as you said Jim its most likely he died Astely/Martley. I know that Emma my gt grandmother lived at Astley all her life until she died.
Anyway thanks for all your help. Maybe he'll be found now with a bit more info?
