Hi,
I am doing a one name study of the Rossiter family and am looking for information please about the parents/grandparents and siblings of Emily Rossiter baptised on May 16th 1854 at Evercreech.
Parents are believed to be John Rossiter and Anna/Hannah ( maiden name unknown).
I'm also looking for information please about Isaac Henry Rossiter born in the same year in Evercreech. They may be related.
Any information would be greatly appreciated please.TIA.

I've found a possible match, but Emily is only 2 and her parents are Isaac and Jane.

She may be the Emily Rossiter buried at Evercreech on 30th May 1854. The NBI records her age as 5 days, but since there is only one Emily Rossiter birth registered in Shepton Mallet district anywhere near this time, you might allow for the possiblity of a transcription error.

Thanks for that.
There were a lot of Rossiters in Evercreeech.
This looks like Isaac Rossiter( born circa 1809) and his second wife Jane Coles(born circa 1826). I have their daughter Emily as born or baptised on May 4th 1859 in Evercreech.
I suspect that Emily could be the daughter of John Rossiter and Hannah Lumber but I mapped that family out earlier and I found no details for Emily.However, it is possible.
Failing that there is a John Rossiter with wife Anna/Hannah who I do not have in my database.
Just got Galium's post. That could be a good match and explains the difficulty in finding Emily.Thanks for that Galium.

Sorry, no parents' names on that one, nor on Isaac Henry Rossiter's burial (Evercreech 30th October 1869 aged 14), unfortunately.
Isaac is not obvious in 1861...

Many thanks for that. On FreeBMD there is a birth record for Isaac Rossiter in the December Qtr of 1855 in Shepton Mallet Registration District ( which covers Evercreech).
It looks like Isaac and Emily were siblings.
Is there a marriage record for John Rossiter and Anna at Shepton Mallet please?
