Hello, I'm new to this site so I'm hoping someone out there can throw some light on the following for me:
I am looking for JAMES FOWLER, who was the father of George Fowler, born illegitimate, the mother, Elizabeth Ross. I have the birth certificate entry for George Fowler and all it said was:
1859 Births Parish of Drumoak.
James Fowler, Father, Carrier, present at the birth in Park parish of Lonmay. Elizabeth Ross, Mother. Registered 18th August 1859, 1 hr 30 mins, illegitimate.
I have searched various Census, BMD, IGI Numbers without any success. He seems to have vanished off the face of the earth. The only reason I could put this down to was being a Carrier, he might not have been Scottish, and was only travelling through! I'm hoping someone can help.
I've traced Elizabeth Ross's father, mother and siblings on the 1861 Census. But no luck any further back.
I cannot find any records if they married at all.
