indeed.
Sarah, Mary Ann and widowed Charity were not the only ones to make the move from SP to Marylebone. I wouldnt be at all surprised if this isnt big sister Faith Charity (chr 1812)

Lock stock ...... and then Sarah (boring name ) decides to marry a Berkshire lad .... and go back to the countryside.
Much more mobile than you'd think !

This is all amazing thanks! Yes, she was married to Thomas Smith in Marylebone in 1857, so that was probably her living there in 1851. I'm still not sure where she was in 1841 though if she isn't the 35 year old living with James and Charity. There's another Sarah in Cheriton Fitzpaine, working on a farm, so that might be her. I believe she died in the 1860s and Thomas married again to Elizabeth. Her daughter Flora Grace Smith (gt. grandmother) died in an asylum in 1916 after (fortunately) giving birth to my grandmother. My grandmother married a New Zealand soldier and moved to NZ. I'm in Canada.
Thanks all for your help. I'll take some time to look at all your replies and info.
