On the 1841 census one of my ancestors is shown living next door to the "Bell Inn". My ancestor was William Norton Profession Shoe maker age 35 born abt 1806 Nottinghamshire also shown - presumed wife Elizabeth Norton age 40 born abt 1801 Nottinghamshire and presumed son Henry Norton (my great great grandfather) age 7 born abt 1834 Nottinghamshire. The district shown on the census title is Blythe. I googled Bell Inn Blythe Nottinghamshire but came up with a long list of "possibles". Has anyone any idea where this Inn was and if it is still standing. A photo would be great. If he was living next door to the Inn perhaps he had a shoe shop there? Any information on this family would be greatfully accepted , especially on the forebears of William. One of Williams grandchildren ended up in Yorkshire. Regards Maeve
