1851 Look-up Anne Rank

I'm looking for an Anne Rank in the 1851 census. After her marriage to George Anderson she appears in all the censuses to 1901, but I would like to find her in the 1841 &1851 census before her marriage. From the censuses she was born 1828 -1829 in West Lutton, Lutton or Malton!!

What was her fathers name on her marriage cert?

Did she marry in Yorkshire or elsewhere - was it after 1851

1841 has one b 1828 living in Ganton - parents Richard & Mary but nothing with that profile on the 1851

Anne Rank married George Anderson March Qtr. 1860 Bridlington Reg Dist.
I haven't sent for the marriage cert. yet,  I was hoping the 1841/1851 census would give me her parents!
I saw that 1841 entry. Ganton is about 8 miles from West Lutton and 14 from Malton, so in the reasonably close vicinity.

George Anderson was a stoker in the RN born at Faversham or Oare in Kent and the couple were living in Sheerness in 1861. I'm a bit puzzled as to how the two met!!!! There are a lot of Andersons in Bridlington area in the IGI and there aren't many in Kent!!

I have just been looking at Genforum on the Rank forum. There is a message there from 2003 which suggests that James Richard Rank  b.1800 in Ganton and married to Mary Newsam emigrated to the USA and that their daughter Ann married a John Broom. The children mentioned make it very likely that this was the family from Ganton in 1841.

I have some more info on Anne Rank from her marriage cert.

Married March 7th. 1860 to George Anderson. at Christchurch Bridlington Quay. Her age given as 32 and her father's name as Christopher, labourer.
There is an Ann Rank on the IGI bt 21/5/1828 at Weaverthorpe. Parents Christopher and Hannah. Couldn't find them on 1841 census. 1851??

Interesting in that George's profession given as sailor which I know is right. Annin the same column has a ditto sign!!!!

At the moment - the only entry I can find for a Christopher Rank is a death in Scarborough in 1842.

This could be dad on the IGI but there is nothing on the 1841 for him or Hannah

Thanks for the reply.
Apparently there were "women sailors" (http://www.amazon.com/Women-Sailors-Untold-Maritime-History).
If she was it could explain why we cannot find her in 1851, like her husband to be she could have been on a ship and therefore not recorded!!

Not sure whether she was a "woman sailor" or a "sailor's woman"!!!!

There is a baptism in Weaverthorpe in 1828 of Ann Ranks, daughter of Christopher and Hannah Ranks. There are no other children with these parents on the IGI but there is a George Ranks, son of Christopher and Elizabeth Ranks in Weaverthorpe in 1830. Weaverthorpe is close to West Sutton which Ann gave as her birthplace. In 1841 census there is an Elizabeth Rank aged 40 and Ann Rank aged 10 in Kirby Grindalythe Malton
(HO107 1210 13/3 12) again in the right area. This could be Ann and her step mother. Who knows!!!
