Hi
Does anyone have access to the parish records for Hooe or Herstmonceux? I'm trying to find the baptism of Thomas Cary/Carey who was possibly born there around 1686 - that's a guess from a submitted record on the IGI.
He married Martha Delves in 1707 in Herstmonceux and they had several children all born and baptised in Hooe.
I have found Martha's baptism to Joseph and Mary 1684 in Herstmonceux. There is always the chance he was born and baptised in Herstmonceux and they moved together to Hooe.
I have tried the Sussex OPC and the obvious sites with no success so wondered if anyone has access to parish records. Otherwise it will have to wait till a trip to Lewes.
Thanks
Kerry

He doesn't seem to be in the Herstmonceux records.

Thanks Nell
One place off the list!
They do seem to be in Hooe for some generations after him, although I know that doesn't mean a thing

i dont have siblings for Thomas or a husband for Phoebe (was she born 1772?) i also have Harmers in my tree, will sort through what i have (for careys & Harmers) and PM you, i expect you have it anyway. She married Samuel Harmer son of Samuel (ha ha) of Herstmonceux. I found Phobe's grave at Ashburnham churchyard. A church you should visit if you ever get the chance.
