I am trying to find a grave for Alexander Stewart ( born 1819 ) and died 3 Aug 1896. I am trying to find an exact birth date. In 1891 he was living in Commercial St, Crook & Billy Row but I do not know where he might be buried. Can you help?.

Hello Gary. If he was living at Billy Row then he could have been buried at St Thomas, Stanley, Crook. or at the Municipal cemetery at Windsor road, Crook. There are no gravestones at Tow law for Stewart. There are two gravestones for Stewart at Windsor rd cemetery but not "Alexander Stewart"

Many thanks for your speedy reply, unfortunately, the search was unsuccessful. For some reason the 1891 census will not reveal anything about the family I am looking for, guess I must keep looking
Once again many thanks for your help.

Thanks Adam
Can you tell me who the 2 Stewarts who are in the Windsor Rd cemetery.
I know Alexander Stewart's date of death from his death certficate but I can not remember if it showed where he was living at the time. I am away from home until Sunday so when I get home I will check.
Can you tell me which other cemeteries in the area that might have him in. Do you have records of the Blackhill cemetery in Consett , if so are there any Stewarts there.
Sorry to be a pain and thanks for your help
Gary

Adam, thanks so much for posting this! James William Parkin and Sarah are my gg grandparents. The story of Lily's death in Winnipeg is tragic http://boards.ancestry.co.uk/localities.northam.canada.manitoba.winnipeg/7220/mb.ashx
The military info on Ralph and Robert is interesting as it confirms other research.
I now need to look through your other posts to see if you've got any other Parkin inscriptions.
Thanks once again.
James
