Hi,

I am trying to find the first marriage of a John Witcomb, born 1780 ish from Trowbridge. His marriage certificate to his second wife, Ann Heals in 1816, states he was a widow but fails to provide anymore information.

If anyone can help me I'd be very appreciative.

John WHITCOMB = Jemima BRITTAN 10 Jan 1808 Trowbridge

Marriage Licence Bond 9 Jan 1808 John WHITCOMB age 21 Bachelor Marine of Trowbridge late HMS Endymion Frigate and Jemima BRITTAN age 19 with fathers consent bondsman John Brittan - weaver of Trowbridge

I'd just like to add the witnesses to the marriage of John Witcombe and Jemima Brittan, they were John Brittan and William Nightingale.

Baptisms in Trowbridge St James.......
10 Jul 1799 John Witcombe son of Thomas and Martha Witcombe
115 Mar 1805 Jemima Brittan age 18 years

I was unable to find a burial for Jemima

I take it you have John's second marriage details but just in case he was married at Trowbridge St James.......16 Jun 1816 John Witcombe, widower, otp (X) and Ann Heals, sp, otp, Banns, witnesses William Blair, Wm Nightingale
