1901 look up please
« on: Saturday 28 June 08 10:02 UTC (UK) »

i need to look up Arthur and Jane Bodsworth. Jane Turner born 1876 Eaton Bray, hopefully married Arthur Bodsworth in Leighton Buzzard in 1893. if this is right the 1901 census would confirm it.
can anyone find them for me. please

Hi Kas,
Yes, I've found them on the 1901 census -  living at Honeywick, Eaton Bray, Bedforshire.
Arthur is down as a quarryman (lime stone).
Hope this helps.

ok one more request please
rto find her father. they only married in 1880 so she shoule ahve been at home with dad. he is mentioned in IGI as Charles William Maillard. but i cant fidn a '81 census report for him. it doesnt say deceased in IGI.
i have a possible marriage in 1844 for him but there are 4 choices of wife.
Caroline was born in Hampstead so looks like a London based marriage which explains why Edward married her in London.
it might also explain why son born in Barnet.

you know what my problem is dont you.
hubby
he dont like me spending hours doing this thing. so i usually spend a couple of hours in the monring researching and posting messages on here.
then whne he gets up i have to stop but i do sneek back during the day if i can to answer any problems that occur. then in the evening while im putting the dishwaher on bout midnight i try to dneek another look.
buit sometimes by that time ive either lost the plot or have got confused. or got them mixed up.
hence sometimes my late night postings are maybe .... nonsense. should leave it alone really

  Hi Kas ......

Just to confuse you more . I have Bodsworth in Stanbridge & Tilsworth just down the road from Eaton Bray. However  the name changed to this in the 1840's they were Botsford in 1841 and Bottesford at bapt up untill then.
Seems they changed it a couple of times.....should cause some fun Roll Eyes

Hi

I also have Bodsworth not that far away in Lilley Herts. In 1814 when my Mary Ann Saunders married Henry he was Bottesworth. Their first child was baptised Botsworth in 1817; they seem to be Bodsworth from 1820 onwards.

wonder if they are connected.

Hi Kas

Mary Ann Saunders was from Kings Walden in Herts, she had my ggg grandfather Jonathan Saunders in Lilley in 1812 - he was illegitimate. The Saunders stayed in Lilley then moved to Luton later in the 19th century.
