James Fairman
« on: Saturday 22 January 05 17:51 GMT (UK) »

Hi

My grandfather was James Fairman he was born in Newington in 1892, he was put into the workhouse after his father died in 1900, he had two brothers Alfred and Thomas.

James married my Grandmother Maud Pauline Harriet Pointer in 1918, my father Leslie was born in 1919..............
from now on I have drawn a blank, my grandmother told me that the marriage broke up and James went to Australia.

I have searched the passenger lists and put postings on the Australian sites with no luck at all.

Is there anyone who could give me just a flicker of hope Huh

Many thanks

I don't know about your particular person but I know that name in the U.S. became Furman and there were several in Franklin Co, N.Y. in Chateaugay.  Sometimes it was spelled Fairman,Firman there also but most finally settled on Furman.    Leagen
