« on: Saturday 28 June 08 11:21 UTC (UK) »

I have traced back to 1800 with the Beatties of St Cyrus and now have drawn a blank looking for marriage of William Beattie to Janet Smith their first child was born 1800.  Can anyone help

I noted your sad smillie and the fact that you hadn't a single response.
Had you consider a wider search?
I had a couple of credits left in my Scotlandspeople Account so I did a deaths and burials search for BEATTIE in KINCARDINESHIRE, not just St CYRUS. I got 43 hits in various parishes.  I have some BEATTIEs connected to my FREEMAN line.  They were all salmon fisherman and that trade took them from St Cyrus parish north to Benholm, Bervie and Kinneff & Catterline parishes.
Even in my days in Kincardineshire, 1940 & 50s, these fishing stations on that coastal strip were very busy with fisherman travelling to them from St Cyrus, Johnshaven, Gourdon and Catterline villages.

I have Beatties in my Fowler line.
They were from Aberdeen.
George was a farmer, church  elder, inspector of the poor and registrar
for his area.
Might be a link.

St Cyrus Kirk session records in National Archives of Scotland ref(CH2/590/1) record the parishioners who were church members.  If I remember correctly they list parents and families.  While this may not be exactly what you seek it may be of some help.  The list was compiled 1798/9. The catalogue record , available online, states     "Includes list of inhabitants in Parish of Ecclesgreig or St Cyrus, 250?? 1798 - 11 April 1799, pp.27-42"
